Women in the Creative and Technology sector are making their mark in senior roles, however, the support needed to enable these leaders to thrive is less strategic and cohesive, leaving women feeling vulnerable and isolated.
Yet professionalism and ambition drive these female leaders to work hard and perform at their best. sometimes beyond their personal resources. Powered by cortisol and adrenaline, our bodies dedicate our energy to making this happen, but at what cost?
When does the sacrifice to ourselves, our family, team, and wellbeing become too much?

High Performance doesn’t mean pushing ourselves or disregarding our limits and over-extending ourselves, often to the point of exhaustion.
1000 Voices: Gathering Insight
How can 1000 Voices support the Creative and Technology sector?
Leadership Challenge: Too often, the sector’s work culture encourages women to get their foot in the door, only to leave them without support once they step in. For far too long, female leaders have found themselves focused on survival rather than thriving.
Industry Challenge: Staying competitive while adapting to the shifting demands of the industry, the unpredictable nature of clients and ensuring sector talent’s well-being is not compromised in the process results in continuous pressure which challenges workplace culture.
1000 Voice Purpose: 1,000 Voices emerges from 15 years working in marketing communication and technology agencies and living the highs and lows as a female and person of colour. Over the past 7 years, I have coached senior professional women globally and listened to others’ challenges whilst supporting leaders to find pathways through it. Why Care: Our professionalism as women, our ambition, and our desire to support others lead us to push ourselves to always perform at our best, but often beyond our personal resources. This challenges the well-being of ourselves, our families, and our team and this project seeks to gather the stories around those challenges.
Ambition: As a coach, I have come to realise that we as women often crave authentic experiences, open dialogues, as well as practical insights on how to not just climb to the top but truly flourish there without compromising any aspect of ourselves.
Personally, my goal has been to become the kind of leader I wish I had, someone who paves the way for others to shine. This project is dedicated to turning this aspiration into reality.

Collecting Your Stories (30 minutes)
Informal 1-2-1 interviews via Zoom are how the stories will be collected. As prompts, there are a few simple questions about your experience of developing a career, your ambition, when you noticed barriers, and what could help the industry.

Survey of Experiences (10 Minutes)
To understand the themes behind attitudes, motivations, and experiences we are running a survey in parallel with the story collection. The survey will broaden our understanding of what is happening for women as they develop career pathways in the industry
